If you choose to opt for a wireless connection inside your home, such as laptops, smart phones, you will need to purchase a wireless router. Our Techincians can provide the wireless router at installation.

How to configure NCELL GPRS in Blackberry

Are you looking for setting that will work for BlackBerry? Search no more, here is the stepwise guide to configure NCELL GPRS setting for BlackBerry.

Step 1: Click on Menu button      

Step 2: Go to options

Step 3: Go to Advanced Options

Step 4: Go to TCP/IP setting

Step 5: Enable the APN settings

Step 6: Once you have enabled APN setting, use "web" without quotes on username field. There are two fields to input APN and use "web" on both on them. Now you are almost done.

Step 7: Leave password field blank.

Step 8: Restart your BlackBerry and you are done. Enjoy the GPRS on your BlackBerry.

Final Note: You will not be able to use GPRS on BlackBerry browser so, you will have to install Opera Mini or Bolt Browser via other media like Wi-Fi or download through you computer and install it with the help of BlackBerry Desktop Manager.

Nepal Telecom has has introduced IP CDMA technology EVDO (CDMA 3G) services and is providing various Volume based data packages. People with active CDMA can buy this data volume if they have enough balance in their account. You can buy these packages by sending SMS to 1456. Various packages available for SKY phones are given below

How to configure UTL CDMA internet on Ubuntu

This method works with Ubuntu 8.04 LTS but for later versions of Ubuntu you have to install the wvdial package before you configure your CDMA Modem. 

There are some devices which is compatible with Ubuntu. To determine if your device is compatible just run this command on terminal.          

$ ls /dev/ttyUSB*

If the result is
/dev/ttyUSB0 , then your are lucky mate.

Now you have to modify the /etc/wvdial.conf file. In terminal do

$ gksudo gedit /etc/wvdial.conf

here is how my file looks like (for UTL CDMA)

after about 15-20 seconds it should give you the ip address, enjoy you internet mate.

To disconnect internet simply press Ctrl + C on the terminal.

activate 3G internet on NTC

Nepal Telecom is offering 3G services for Smartphone users with a small activation charge. The 3G internet services is good in various parts of Kathmandu valley and its also available in major cities like Pokhera. 

The one time activation charge for 3G service is Rs 100 for Pre-paid users. The GPRS tariff for 3G internet is Rs. 0.15/100 Kb which is same as the 2G (EDGE and GPRS).

So, if you have 3G capable phone I suggest that you activate 3G services because the data rate is same and you will get much better internet speed on your phone than 2G service.

You can go to Pulchowk NTC office and activate 3G on your SIM card.

Notes:

1. You don't have to get a new SIM card for 3G. Your old SIM card will work as well.

2. 3G service will become active after 24 hours of payment.
